Planted in 1300, the estate is the oldest planted vineyard in the region. The 2006 vintage was challenging for some, but for this estate the wines rivaled the excellent 2005’s. The wine leads with a nose of graphite, cassis, and smoke. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins and balanced acidity. After over a decade in the bottle, the new oak has settled and integrated, and the long-lingering finish is smooth, elegant, and intense.
