Alexander Murray & Co. source incredible, aged barrels from the top Single Malt producers throughout Scotland.  They bottle these unique expressions from familiar names like Laphroaig along with the unfamiliar like Tomintoul. 

Their philosophy:

As a merchant and independent bottler, our specialization is not to produce whisky from its raw ingredients. We leave that to the craft of distillers who have been doing so for generations.  It is to engage with many distillers in Scotland in order to purchase casks of their whisky that have matured.  It is to take these casks and to create unique whiskies under the strong principles of the Alexander Murray name.

Rhetoric 25yr Bourbon

This intensely oaked Bourbon rested in cask for 25 years, after distillation between 1990 and 1993.  The bourbon was likely originally distilled by Bernheim distillery, and then was left to rest in the Stitzel-Weller warehouses, until Diagio decided to bottle and release the Bourbons in limited edition lines.  This is the final in the series, and the highest age stamp.

2016 Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Clos des Perrieres, Cote de Nuits, France

The Domaine Guy and Yvan Duflouleur is a family-run estate in Nuits-Saint-Georges that has been in the same family since 1596. It currently covers 28 hectares across several different appellations.

The estate adopts a sustainable approach to viniculture and winemaking, and the wines are aged for 12-15 months in oak, with 15-25% new wood, depending on the vintage and the appellation. It is currently managed by Guy Dufouleur’s eldest son Yvan, and his uncle Xavier.

2015 Chateau La Creation, Pomerol, France

Located close to Clos René and Château de Sales, Château la Création (previously Château Tour Robert) is owned by the de Gaye family with Yseult de Gaye- Nony currently at the helm. With its 4.60 hectares (11.36 acres) the vineyards spread all around the house.  An attractive nose with small red cherry, blackcurrant and orange blossom. The palate is medium-bodied with red berries, cedar, and sea salt on the attack. Already a balanced wine with a vivid finish.
