With a history going back to the 1600’s Masseria Li Veli is quintessentially Pugliese. Working with native varietals in traditional methods, they’ve become a sort of standard-bearer for Pugliese wine. With a mere 50 hectares of Susumaniello planted in all of Italy, there just isn’t much of this to go around. The Susumaniello Askos mixes peppery herbs with woodland berries and smoke to create an understated yet very pretty bouquet. Its silky textures flow effortlessly across the senses, riding a wave of cooling acid and mineral tones, and hints of blackberry come forward more toward the close.
